Editorial

The increase in longevity in our modern societies is associated with increased health costs.

But the use of new information technologies can help increase the efficiency of the health systems by reducing unproductive expenses.

These new technologies should insure - on the one hand the integrity, confidentiality, privacy and interoperability of patient medical data (HIPAA Act, FDA Regulatory Issues, CCHIT interoperability issues) - on the other hand a better follow up of the patient at the clinical level (Oncology, Orthopedics, ...).

The U.S. Department of Health & Human Services, thru National Institutes of Health (N.I.H), along with Medicare Health Plans (Medicare) have invested huge budgets and plans in preventive services, encouraging practitioners and specialists to ensure constant follow-up of their patients, which is in line with the optimization and cost reduction of public health care.

Also in Europe, conjectural European Health care and systems reforms, acts and policies are directly in line with increased efficiency health system while minimizing expenses.

With these objectives, GSI Solutions has been for the last 16 years developing and providing innovative solutions in Healthcare Information Technology, EMR and EHR systems, Orthopaedic Outcomes Evaluations, Digital Radiography acquisition, archiving and measurement.

All of the company solutions are designed and developed with and for the major actors of the health care system – hospital administrators, radiologists, surgeons, obstetricians, anesthesiologists, practitioners, specialists, nurses, pharmacists and third-party health care systems providers.

In addition, the GSI major products (radiology and orthopaedic) distributed in the US are currently or have been submitted to the Code of Federal Regulations of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for approval.

The overall strategy of the company is the development of strong and long-term worldwide partnership, with various and complementary actors in health and care services, such as worldwide distribution partners, clinics, laboratories, implant manufacturers, surgeons, clinicians, researchers and general management and accounting system providers.

The current projects of the company are covering various areas:
-Healthcare information technology systems, EMR, EHR and general hospital and practice management.
-Orthopaedic Outcomes Evaluations systems, with electronic data entry forms, preoperative planning, traceability and national joint registries.
-Digital Radiology systems for digital x-ray acquisition, PACS archiving and measurement.
-Digital Angiography in Ophtalmology, Bone Mineral Density Analyses, Mammography, industrial micro-biology.
